It was ok. There was nothing particularly good about it and the characters said a lot of cliché retorts. The original series is much better.

Link and Ridley thought that the worst was behind them. They were going to drive across the country and finally experience some real freedom. So of course they lives plummet into a new disaster.

I have so much love for the Caster Chronicles and I have absolutely been loving this spinoff.

Link and Ridley are one of my favorite couples in YA. They fight, they care for one another and they have deep insecurities when it comes to their relationship. It is a bit dramatic but also one of the more believable couples.

This book brought back some great characters from the Caster Chronicles. It showed how evil our villain is and it was creepy. I really enjoyed this book. I love how it ended in such an angsty cliff hanger.

I can’t wait t see how they end this series. I give it a B+.

A lot slower than the previous books. It‘s a lot of back and forth with Ridley being good and then evil and then good again and it‘s getting a bit annoyinh. Not the biggest fan of Link, I much prefer Nox. The other characters they introduced were very interesting though and made the story fun to read.

There was one glaring issue for me in this book. While it is written in the same style as its predecessor (multiple POV's and flashbacks) rather than the third-person flashbacks we see in book 1, this book had first-person flashbacks. That may not seem like a huge deal to most people, but for me, it took me straight out of the story every time. I don't mind switching point of views as far as characters go, but from third to first to third again is just a giant headache for me.

The plot wasn't as great, this book is basically half the size of every book from the caster chronicles and it doesn't really end with a definitive ending despite the fact the authors have stated they have no desire to continue writing this series.

The thing that made me love the Caster Chronicles and to even want to read this follow up series ws the relationship dynamic between Ridley and Link. And for me, because we only see them on about four pages together throughout this entire book, it just completely fell flat for me.

I didn't hate it, but it just didn't have anything really special about it.

The second novel in the Dangerous Creatures series. Ridley, a once evil, turned nice Caster has been taken by the most powerful and evil Caster, Silas Ravenwood. Link, her boyfriend makes it his mission to find her and save her from what Silas will do to her. Nox, a Dark Caster, who is also madly in love with Ridley finds himself trying to save her too; only he gets caught by Silas. Seeing what Ridley is turning into Nox knows he must turn her back into the girl she was before. The novel was a compelling tale of perseverance even from the underdog. It went on adventure, after adventure on this journey to find Ridley. The plot was good, but the characters were a little boring and repetitive. The novel wasn’t long enough for the characters to really grow much, so this novel felt more like a chapter in a bigger story. The characters just felt like they were lacking, and could have been a little less unintelligent, especially Link. Overall, it was interesting, and peaked the readers’ interests, but the characters really took away from the story.

I hate reading a book right when it's released because then I have to wait forever for the next one.
