Well this book was a mindf*ck and the main character’s pov is frustrating to read, honestly most of the characters in this book were unlikeable. I didn’t like how almost all of the characters were sus in some way.
Seriously flew through this one. Had no idea that ending was going to happen.

i. am. in. shock.
i read 60% of this book thinking i knew who it was and that i had guessed the answer to the whole book, i had convinced myself completely, the last 40% was just plot twist after plot twist, i couldn’t put the book down and it literally left me so shocked and overwhelmed.. i need time to process it all

A Flicker In the Dark hit all the right spots. What a twisted story!
The pacing was fantastic, engaging throughout. I hated to put it down and finished it in less than 24 hours.
I had no idea who to trust as the truth. While I called the ending (as one option) it had no effect on my enjoyment. The conclusion was completely satisfying in a number of ways!
Recommend-yeah!! I think this is my fave Willingham book.
I really enjoyed this one! First book from this author and thought it was well written and the story was interesting. The beginning was a little too slow for my taste, but the story itself was captivating enough to keep me going. The ending all unfolded to the last third of the book, and definitely saw the final reveal coming, but probably because I read too many mystery books at this point.

I didn’t feel any thriller atmosphere or any sympathy for the main character, simply because she does things like what typical dumb main characters would do in horror movies 💔

Lots of twists and turns. Good book!
*sigh*
I've never smacked my own face so many times.
I've never read a thriller where the girl does all the stereotypical things they make fun of people for doing in horror/thrillers. I swear if the FMC was being chased, she would have hidden in a shed with axes 🤦♀️
The book had a great premise but i feel like the author just rushed many parts of the story. It’s not a bad plot, although I had a theory of the plot twist and was pleased to have been right, it still seemed pretty predictable and a little wish washy. The biggest issue I had with this book was that there were too many suspects too quickly and their stories felt so unfinished.
I wish the dads physical presence had been somewhere in the book, I wish her mom had played a bigger role (did she end up dying?), some actions don’t make sense, what was the point of the new killings occurring (it was never outright explained why it happened the way it happened).
Too many plot holes and unfinished thoughts. Overall interesting story, but need some work.
Honestly felt that this was more mystery then it is thriller. I don't think I would recommed it as a Thriller or even a Psychological Thriller... But as a mystery, absolutely.
The book is not to badly written, ending wasn't 'super' predictable. But, I knew a few chapters in who it was. It was way too obvious with the way they try to point you to a different character, but to me, I guessed right away. That twist at the end would have really gotten me a few years ago. At this point, I have read so many mystery thriller books that it’s become hard to shock me with the endings.
The one thing I don’t understand is why Chloe’s dad left the box that had the evidence in it in a spot where someone could easily reach it. He should have put it up on a high shelf and pushed it to the back??
