I bought this from a stall by the seine, having heard of it before and then, at the time, seeing so many postcards of illustrations from the book. But that was two or more years ago. I tried reading it before but got a little distracted. The narration is here and there and it was difficult to get into. But reading it all the way through really does pay off.
It's an incredibly deep and thoughtful story by the end and very touching with a powerful message.
