The idea was so simple that it had to be right.
In this little book, Watson recounts the events and pieces of research leading up to the discovery of the double helix structure of DNA, but also the fierce competition between scientists in the US and England, the jealousy and irritation even among colleagues in the same science lab. (What a characters, now I understand what E.O. Wilson must have gone through with these people!) A short and engaging read, even a bit of a page turner.

This was decently entertaining for a non-fiction, educational book. I read this for a genetics class I am taking which is way out of my depth and yet still very interesting. While I don’t truly understand the more scientific aspects of this book, I respect and enjoy the personal insight from Watson on the road to discovering such an incredible piece of information about life itself.
