Wowowow what did I just read?! This is a dark, twisted story of a girl who is broken and the boy she loves..
The ending!! I did NOT expect that. I always love a good spoiler but I went in blind..
My understanding, a group of kids die and Rainey is assigned a therapist, Justin, to get the story. The story goes back and forth between her present and past. Normally it would be Justin asking her questions in the present and her retelling it as if she was back in that time, hence the past portion of the retelling.
He is still no closer to getting the answers he is looking for so he goes day in and day out to her home to find out something... well the plot definitely thickens. I am just at a loss for words at this point.. I would definitely recommend this book and to go in blind because if you read spoilers the entire book would be ruined in my opinion

My hunch was right lol I got the feeling from some bits of the pieces thrown by the author. This was certainly a page turner being so depressingly sick, dirty, immoral and just keep getting worse but I still read this in one sitting. Some part didn’t get explained well enough to make it believable but I think it was decent read for me
**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**
This story was a mind blower. I couldn't get enough. I had to know Rainy's full story. It was dark and twisted, manipulating with a love story weaved throughout.
Lily White keeps you on the edge of your seat with this page turner. The way this story plays out you feel guilty for finding it erotic but you can't help yourself. Rainy's story is so twisted and unbearably sad but she did what she did to survive. She's the victim and the puppet master. This review is probably one of the hardest to write so many spoilers that can't be revealed. You'll thank me later for going in blind. It's the best way to get through this tale and oh what an epic tale it is.

The plot twist was twisting, making me see the characters in an entirely different light. Reduced one star because of the context of all the sexual content, it just made me feel uncomfortable (as the author intended I'ms sure) and I'm not entirely sure that it would have taken anything away from the story if they had all been aged up a couple years. Regardless, I finished this in 24 hours!
Holy mind screw
It is rare for a book to leave me speechless. Yet, from the beginning of this story, I was hooked. More often than naught I would find myself with my mouth agape and or expressing expletives out loud. This story was heartbreaking and yet riveting in the same breath.
The author might be a sorceress because the magic she wove was out of this world. I asked myself why, how, and what more times than I can count. Seriously. This author is like Gandalf the Gray or even White caliber here.
This is not an easy story to read but the mystery keeps propelling the audience to become more and more invested. The twists are mind-blowing and the ending is one that I never saw coming.
Bravo. Simply, bravo.

This one was very dark and I can’t say you’ll like any of the characters and at times felt like this was a game of how many awful things can we see happen to this girl. It kept me interested and praying for this to have a happy ending.
Massive spoilers. Don’t read if you don’t want the plot given away!!
Holy sh1t. I devoured this book.
Couldn’t put it down.
My heart was ripped open over and over again.
Please take the time to read trigger warnings, there’s a lot of trauma in this book.
I’m not sure how I feel over the ending. Part of me is sad, part of me is overwhelmed, part of me completely lost to all things Rowan.
The life Rainey led is so devastating I found it hard to read. I don’t have many triggers but her story is heartbreaking and sickening.
I’m sad that Jason’s story played out how it did. He crossed boundaries but didn’t deserve his ending. Part of me thought he would be our hero but part of me knew that was too easy.
Rowan. My sweet, psychotic Rowan. I rooted for him, got angry for him, mourned him, shed tears for him and eventually let him glue all my pieces back together.
This book blew my mind in so many ways. The emotional rollercoaster, the sadness, the trauma, the love.
Completely unexpected and I’m so thankful I went in blind.

Well dang! Lily White does it again! She never fails to deliver a compelling and mind bending story. I definitely should not have thought that ending was romantic…prison for me? Or writing award for Lily? 😅
Also none of the characters were like able and they were every shade of dark gray

Ayo wtf was this? This was so dumb. Am I reading the same book as everyone else? It was a drawn out wannabe thriller with a fucking dumb fmc and even more lame mmc. The book tried so hard to be so edgy, saying that there was more to Rainey when in fact Rainey was just a crackhead whore who could quit anytime she wanted to but didn't. She admitted she had no one to blame but herself and that was all there was to her. I don't think I have ever hated a book more.
The book started with Justin, a psychologist called in to get Rainey's statement about the day that killed her friends. From the get go, Rainey was a slut for Justin. Always trying to "effortlesly" bare her skin for him. The foreshadowing in the book was god awful it was clear from the start Rainey was involved and she was just playing victim. Justin asked her about the incident but she went on a rampant about her whole life story instead. Like wtf?
Justin kept saying that he didn't get what her story got to do with the murders. Acknowledging in the book that the drawn out memoir didn't make sense doesn't make it acceptable. It was obvious what she was trying to do but Justin was thinking with his dick. We could forego her life story and it wouldn't change a damn thing.
Anyways, she started the story from when she started living in that neighborhood. How she was a drug addict that would have sex with her drug dealer neighbor. She'd have sex with all of the men in the family except Rowan at first. Because Rowan was too young and he didn't have drugs. Rowan fell in love with her, which looked to me just like pity and jealousy but okay sure love. Rowan and Rainey eventually did have sex at one point but whatever, not important. With the other men, every chapter of the book was just her doing sexual favors that Justin perceived as the men using her. But it was fucking obvious that she had a choice, multiple chances to back out--one of them even asked outright at some point but she did it.
Everyone in her life even Justin saw her as this innocent victim but she was far from it. She was a conniving slut and it was so frustrating to read. She kept stringing along Rowan. She told him that he deserved better but she kept going back to him for things even when she lost the right to do so. She was a grade A bitch. I just don't see what Rowan saw in her, what made him think that she deserved better. All the men saw her as this alluring siren but come on. She sounded horrible and not the least bit attractive.
Rainey had past childhood sexual assaults. It was horrible yes, but it didn't add anything to her character. It was just a backstory to why she had no self respect. But that fact didn't make me want to sympathize with her, her actions showed that she knew what she was doing, she admitted it, she was a horrible person. She was a user just as much as those drug dealers were using her.
She only started to refuse sex when it seemed like Rowan was completely fed up with her. That's how you know she was a manipulating bitch. Even then she kept going when the man left. Rowan was drunk or something, drove his friend home and he ended up dead.
The "plot twist" wasn't interesting at all. Surprise, Rowan's not dead. Oh and he had a 180 character change, spouting some knockoff disney villain monologues at the end there. Rowan killed the others on that day and took Rainey home. After that, Rainey just suddenly stopped the sex for drugs and gave in to Rowan. Which was just another 180 dumb dumb character moment. Oh and they killed Justin, huuray. I don't even want to get into the details. My brain will explode.
I just can't. This book made my blood boil.
