Maybe I'm having a bad weekend, as I abandoned another book and now really didn't enjoy this one, but there's just too much stuff going on without a strong narrative arc. No character development this issue, and I don't think the art was used to its best advantage. I'm done with the series. I hope I like Ascender better.

This is the point where the series' scope explodes. The story becomes very wild and tangled with a lot of subthreads and complexity. Lemire gives the characters some progression but the biggest change is to the worldbuilding since it is the most impressive part of the volume.

Jeff Lemire is probably my favourite visual comic book writer currently working, Gideon Falls is haunting, impressively navigating multiple dimensions and timelines & continues to be enthralling.

It’s fine. I’m totally unsatisfied with the ratio of mystery to answers, but it’s fine. I trust jeff Lemire. Mostly. Maybe I should say that trust in him is as well placed, if not moreso, than trust in any comics writer.
Don’t you screw me on this one, Jeff. I’ll abandon the Jeffboat and be all about the MattKindtTrain. You just watch.

Too notch art, but the story slows down and gets muddled up a bit after the steller first two arcs. We still get some answers to questions introduced in the very first issues, and the time travel, multiple worlds fuckery, all the while being surrounded a by creepy evil incarnation is enjoyable.

I can't stress how much I love this series. This volume really gave a glimpse into the guts of the story and by the time I turned that last page I knew I had to pick up volume 4.

A priest time travelling the past and the future, an unspeakable horror that has escaped, murder and love, a trash collecting paranoiac, a barn in the country side, cowboys and sheriffs, sacrifice and blood all synch in perfect harmony to bring out this masterpiece.
Each page, each panel, each stroke of ink, color and text send frenzy emotions and disorienting nightmares to every fan who squeaks and shrieks in delight.
Remember. That. Fucking. Smile.
