How have I not read this before? I laughed. I cried. I enjoyed every single biblical reference. Definitely one of my new favorite books.

An excellent children's story full of beautiful writing and characterizations. Although I enjoyed the Christian interludes, I did find it a bit too heavy-handed at times, which was not a put-off, but it definitely came off a tad bit preachy. Overall, I enjoyed this book, but I won't be continuing on with this series.

Read with the kids and they really loved it. I was afraid they were going to be really upset

when Aslan dies

but they handled it really well. I was impressed Ellie grasped the biblical parallels straight away. So fun to be at a point where we can read and enjoy classics like this! (Obviously reading them in their original order, since this should clearly be book 1).
