This book was structured in thirds and I thought the first third was stellar. As the novel continued I thought it turned into something…else. A few cliches, a bit jumbled: not necessarily my cup of tea. I think the title and flap copy are a bit of a bait and switch: this is really a rom com-esque plot with a little midlife crisis mixed through.

An ok read, it just seemed a bit disjointed to me.

liked this one, but I didn’t love it. Bennett is a recently divorced painter, and he can’t afford to stay in his house without his wife’s income unless he rents it out on AirBed while he stays in his artist studio. As people flit in and out of long-term rentals, he tries to figure out his life.

I found the characters were interesting, but for whatever reason this didn’t really gel for me.

DNF. Content warning: sexual assault.

This is not the book I thought it was (for some reason, I really thought it was a romance). It’s about a vaguely insufferable man and all the broken women around him. The characters are well drawn but it feels deeply mismarketed.

Didn't really like it because it was slow and the characters kind of sucked

Too slow for me, not invested in the characters
