Honestly didn't think I was truly invested in this series for plot reasons but here I am at the end of book two eager to dive into the third book and see what happens in the Fae realm.

I picked this book up purely because the first book ended on a promising note. While the story does still intrigue me, I fear I may not continue the series just because the majority of the book is… boring. It has its good points (Imelda and Holt <3), but the smut is cringy and there’s a lot of it.

This is an interesting continuation of the first book in the series. I did like how Estrella handled her hurt feelings towards Caldris in the beginning of the book, but I felt as if they continue to linger throughout the book for unnecessary reasons. There were times where she would bring up her hurt after she opened the bond or after they had talked through it and had both deemed that their feelings were mutual and they understood each other. I really enjoyed Caldris in this book. I appreciated that he was a God and that he was able to help Estrella through all of her struggles in this book. I liked having a more throwback story from him and it made him much more relatable. It allowed you appreciate him more, knowing that Mab had essentially taken him from his mother, tortured him, and forced sexual upon him. There were a lot of times that I felt if the book was moving slow and that there were plot decisions that weren’t necessarily important to the storyline. Otherwise, I do think that the strange man that Estrella saw in that dream stat may possibly be her father/God that gave birth to her initial incarnation since Mab is not her mother as indicated at the end of the book since Fallon is Mab’s daughter. It would be interesting to see in the next book who her true father actually is I do hope that in the upcoming book that mob does not take over the entirety of the bookkeeping address and separate I hope that they are able to escape from her clutch is unable to finalize the bond and ultimately attempt to take down mob or by the end of the book come together so that they can create a plan so that in the final and fourth book that they are able to take her down and free the Fae land from her clutches.
