Great premise but, in the end, the characters are uninteresting

I’ve had this book on my to-read list for 6 months now, and I am not sure how I heard about it initially. I think it was actually suggested on Goodreads because it fit my narrative. The story certainly fits in well to the same plot lines that I usually like, but I wish it had more enemies-to-lovers type drama, and that there were people to root for and against. It’s hard when the book starts and the reader is immediately reading about people with almost no issues, and the books ends and a same exact feeling is still present. Hard not to think that you just spent a day reading a “bleh” story when it ends just as it begins. I really did like this book, don’t get me wrong, and it would have been 5 stars a few years ago, but now I’ve read a lot of life-changing books and all other books can’t live up to them. I think I’m moving beyond my genre

This book did not hold my interest

This book is fine. Good even, but it drags under its own weight at times to become a little monotonous. The romance felt secondary, but I'm not sure to what exactly. To racism and misogyny? To the grinding wheel that is the life of a celebrity? None of these are really explored in any depth so it's not clear what the full point of it was. In the end, I found myself thinking that a more fun and possibly powerful story would have been Win and Leo having to keep a real relationship under wraps as opposed to keeping a fake one in the public eye.

Still, I enjoyed chunks of this book. I did find myself putting it down to read something else a few times, but I also wanted to finish it. I would read something else by these authors, but this could have been edited down to something a bit tighter.

“Knock Knock”
“Who is there?”
“humor”
“humor who?”
“no idea there was no humor there”
Not a chuckle not a laugh, could they spilled a drink or tripped into each other arms? This is a very well written story. It is a example of the time and effort put into
a plot. But and there is always a but in life, it is a story of very very wealthy spoiled child like people. 325 pages we could have just skipped to the wedding

the first half was good….middle started to reallyyy drag on and i got super bored….and then the epilogue was fun

It was mostly exhausting

The story was decent, but predictable. Unfortunately I could not get behind Win and her attempt at self-martyrdom. What I think was meant to make her character have depth just made her seem whiny and somewhat clueless.

I read this so quickly. What a delightful story! Fun romance with a modern aesthetic. I loved it.

This was brilliant.
