Take a photo of a barcode or cover
giving a chemistry like this, this strong between two characters made of only words is a talent
(i’ve decided that the taylor swift song i’m gonna associate with this book is ‘dancing with our hands tied’)
THIS BOOK WAS WRITTEN BY LESBIANS LETS GOOOOO!!!! win for the girls
this book was incredible and i could write a 10 page essay on it no problem. i think the most interesting part to me was the choice to switch povs after a big fight. i thought that was genius. if left us just as confused and hurt and the main characters, plus we got to see more layers of win and leo
also the money i would pay to see those photos from that photoshot. i would sacrifice my firstborn. idc if they’re not real IT WAS REAL TO ME!
i need to buy a physical copy and annotate the shit out of it now

Actress Win Tagore and Leo Milanowski are the “It” couple and tabloid darlings. But what the public doesn’t know, their relationship is all fake and is really just a business deal to help with publicity. But when a secret about Leo comes out, it puts everything in jeopardy and makes them confront the truth.
This book was one I wanted to love but struggled to get into. I loved the exotic settings, and there were many things I enjoyed about Win and Leo as a couple, but for some reason this one fell flat for me. I usually love Hollywood behind the scenes and fake dating stories, so I’m not quite sure why this one didn’t capture my interest.
Thank you to Grand Central Publishing for the gifted copy!

My feelings toward this book are very conflicted.
Just for example: it's a well-written book. Very poetic, and the writer (writers?) clearly have a way with words. But on the other hand, it felt like there was such a focus on the stylistics that they got lost - they went on and on, beating a dead horse past the point of all recognition. That being said, it fits the narrative and the plot: this book is about the fabulously wealthy and the incredibly famous. Talking about St. Tropez and how stunning the main female lead, Win, is makes sense.
The plot itself is pretty good: Win is an insanely famous British-Indian actress; whenever scandal hits, she and her publicist get in contact with Leo, a rich socialite, who swoops in to save the day by acting as her amazing one true love. Shock of all shocks: they actually have a thing for one another - or do they? Shenanigans occur.
The characters were a little... well... the book feels like a character study in many ways. They are not perfect people, and the books describes this in exacting detail. I got a little sick of them by the end, honestly.
Yeah, I dunno. I think this book was on the verge of something great, but it never quite hit the mark for me. That being said, I think a lot of people might really enjoy it. I definitely recommend reading it if you're a fan of books like Crazy Rich Asians or... uh... romances.

TYSM to NetGalley for my copy of this book.
Wow, what an incredible novel. As the year begins to come to a close, I can confidently say that this one will end up in my top ten reads of 2021. The story itself was incredibly interesting, however, it was the writing and the characters that pulled me in and captivated me almost instantly. I wasn't able to put this one down, constantly thinking about both Leo and Whitman and what trouble the two were going to manage to get into next.
