This is my least favourite book of the series... I mean I couldn't stand Lilith and her behaviour. And I was apparently the only one who didn't think it got better towards the end. Still spying on her boyfriend, planning revenges, and being childish. Also, who was that weird Celia character supposed to be? She had no believable motif for her nasty actions. That's usually not how human brains work. Speaking about human bodies not working a certain way... Well... You can imagine... Sex was not believable either. And therefore it wasn't sexy...

Not my favorite but still a good laugh.

Now I love Lilith, so I was super excited to dive into His Package. Yet, I didn't love this book that much. Yes, the drama and the smut were delivered but other than that I felt kind of bored in this one? I don't know what it was but it just kind of ended up being meh to me.

In this, you will meet Lilith and Liam. Yes, I love Lilith and she's my spirit animal and still is but her romance with Liam was just okay. I guess I was just expecting more from this book than what I originally got but I'm also kind of okay with it as well?

Celia was crazy and definitely reminded me of William/Bruce's parents. They seemed like they all knew each other at the crazy convention because they were all that. I did laugh out loud with the whole dildo scene - heck, every dildo scene - but that's about it.

Overall, I was expecting more and got less than I deserved. On to the next book I guess.

This was not my favorite of this series. The writing itself is good, and I even laughed out loud a couple of times, but I'm not feeling the romance in this one. Lilith really put me off in the last story, and it didn't get much better in this one. I understand snarky and sarcastic, but she was just strange. Liam was an okay hero, but the whole stalker step sister thing was a little weird for me too. I didn't feel the love between Liam and Lilith, it wasn't there for me. Although I wasn't a huge fan of this one, I will be looking out forward to whatever's next from this author.
I voluntarliy reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

This was absolutely hilarious in an almost dark and deliciously depraved way. The final revenge plot was by far the BEST. This is worth the read. A fun relationship, revenge plots, spy equipment, a sassy grandma, and an over indulged man child, thrown with some steamy sex - what more could ask for?

UPDATED 2/2021:

I added audio to the mix. I still love Lilith and Liam and Lilith's dark and twisted outlook on "incidents" that happen around her and the pleasure she derives from others displeasure.

If you've been keeping up with the series, then you will get to see peeks of prior couples. If you haven't, there's nothing to fear. The first time I read this was the first time I'd been introduced to the series and I never felt lost.

Story: 4.5 stars
Narration: 4 stars

His Package was sooooooo much better than His Treat, thank you! I hated the third book in this series, and I almost didn’t read this one as a result. But I loved Lilith so much when introduced to her I decided to give it a try and I’m glad I did. His Package was much more in line with the first two books in the series. It was funny, smart, and entertaining. Would recommend in a heartbeat!

His Package by Penelope Bloom

Holiday Romcom. 4th Standalone in a series.
4.5 Stars

His Package by Penelope Bloom was the last of the 2018 Christmas season for me, and I am so glad it ended on a high note! I loved this book, and I can’t wait to go back and read the previous books, His Banana, Her Cherry, and His Treat. Though I never felt like this wasn’t a standalone, now that I know they are related, I look forward to going back for more. The blurbs of every one of them is so clever with double entendres!

“His package ended up inside my box.
Calm down, perv. My mailbox.
As soon as I saw what was inside,
I knew two things:
It belonged to my hot neighbor, and he had a dirty secret.”

I absolutely LOVED Lilith’s snark. How can you not love a character with this attitude?
People always thought I wasn't a "people person," whatever that even means. Well, guess what, assholes? I was totally a people person.
But there’s something I enjoy even more than casual acts of the universe’s great balancing act. I don’t excite easily, and I don’t make a habit of smiling—but I especially enjoy waiting for karma to strike down someone when they’ve pissed me off.

Lilith has a new hot neighbor across the hall, Liam, who rented the apartment to hide from his crazy stepsister who is trying to ruin his life because he wouldn’t sleep with her. When Lilith and Liam’s packages get switched, he comes over with her 7-inch “package” and she has no problem letting him know how she uses it!!! I loved Lilith down to her dark little soul, and all of the supporting characters were amazing as well.
“How’s your dark little life treating you?” Grammy asked me.
“Just waiting for the next disappointing turn of events. What about you, planning on dying any time soon?”

I loved how Lilith really grew throughout the story, and we got to see what was behind the snark. Besides the funny lines, this was actually a fairly mature and well-handled relationship, and I really enjoyed that for a change. But my favorite thing in a book is banter, and let me tell you, there was TONS of great banter!
“Look at you.” I made a floppy hand gesture toward him. “How many times have you ever had to do more than wink at a girl to get her to strip naked and beg to have sex with you? I feel like I owe it to the world to make it hard for you.”
“Well, you’ve accomplished that. A few times, actually.”
Oh, my... I wasn't a blusher, but my face felt a little hot. I must've been getting a fever.

Most of the time, a guy like Liam would kind of not be my type. He was too lax about his stepsister, hiding instead of fighting back, but it made Lilith really stand out, and they were awesome together.

Likes:

  • •Easily stands alone.

  • •Can be read any time of year.

  • •Every single character.

  • •Lilith’s amazing snark.

  • •I laughed out loud numerous times.

  • •So much clever innuendo.

  • Dislikes:

  • •Not a damn thing.

  • The Down & Dirty:

I actually have bought the books in the Object of Affection series as they came out because I loved the covers and blurbs, but never got around to reading them. I am so freaking glad I finally got to one! His Package was sarcastic, snarky, sweet, funny, sexy and an all-around blast to read. It stood alone just fine, but now I want to go back and read them all. I highly recommend this one!

I liked it, but not as much as I thought I would. I liked the female lead, Lilith, a lot but the male was just okay. Nothing great. I think after the other books in this series, this one just left too much to be desired for me. It wasn’t quite as funny and snarky as I was expecting - especially from Lilith.

    I originally hated Lilith

I read the other books in this series awhile ago and I hated Lilith. I didn’t like the way she treated anyone, especially Emily, her so-called best friend. So, I never felt the need to read this book. I didn’t even know it existed. Well, yesterday came around and I was in need of a book and liked the title. Low and behold, it’s Lilith’s take.

I struggled during the first few chapters. Lilith was as terrible as I remembered. Eventually though, she started changing for the better and I liked how Liam saw her. By the end of the series I was okay with Lilith. She still isn’t my favorite character. I also still think William is crazy, but Grammy is awesome.

I loved the revenge on Celia. Literally LOL moment.

The writer is good. She keeps you entertained. I just have a hard time with some of her characters. They aren’t all characters I can relate to or enjoy reading about. Hopefully I’ll find more interesting books by this author. Happy reading y’all!!
