As a concise review this is a very good short book.
It completely captures the affection you have for a pet and the important role those small shorter lived lives can play in our own stories. This book feels very intimate and almost makes you feel like you are intruding on a very private close bond between a woman and her beloved cat but this only adds to the sincerity of the feelings discussed.
As a cat lover who recently lost a friend very much like Mii in her later years the book brought back many bittersweet memory’s for me.
In the end I did cry but I feel like I have gained something from reading it and so I highly recommend it.

This story was more than just a sweet tail of an owner and their cat but quite an emotional rollercoaster.
There were some absolutely sweet moments, especially when Mii is a kitten. What I found most surprising was how this story focused on what ups and downs of the owner and how her cat very much became her emotional support. The whole book went through Mii’s life from start to end which did mean that by the end I was sobbing. Anything to do with animals always hits me the most.
I will say this was a very simple book, no huge stakes, no big plot and the writing is easy reading. But this was a great palette cleanser for me in-between some heavier novels; so if you are looking a for a sweet but somewhat emotional tail then this is a great little book!
