I really really wanted to like this. The walking journey and landscape descriptions are all up my alley, but the characters kept getting in my way. They were both so completely unlikeable, and the story skipped over their individual development for the sake of throwing them into bed together. Their misunderstandings started off cute and then just became aggravating. Even the gorgeous French/Spanish scenery and endless descriptions of food couldn't make up for how annoyed these characters made me.

Much like it's setting, this book took a long time to arrive where it was heading, but it was an enjoyable read.

I really loved this book and the collaboration between Simsion and his wife Anne Buist worked perfectly. As someone who finds the Camino very fascinating I liked the history and stories about the different ways to traverse interesting. The love story that is at the center of the book reminded me of the movie Serendipity...just missing each other or somehow connected by someone else on the walk. Excellent read!
