There are so many books I have read about Sierra and Xavier. The hate, the tension, the pranks, and the makings of a great love story. I knew she would be the last book, and this one felt off. I really liked the first half because it still had them in it. The bantering and bickering. There is no surprised she was his and he was always her but the flow didn't go sometimes. Xavier was really quite a messed up mentally individual. I even started to really resent him at the end. He was so hot and cold, which I know due to ptsd but him not being able to communicate started to frustrate me. Then you have Sierra, who is a prickly thorn. Finally, retract her claws, and she gets like 2 weeks of happy bliss. I know everyone of their marriages are arranged but this relationship was so much more than that. I'm not happy about the gma storyline. I felt like it wasn't a true depictness of these characters I had fallen for when reading this series. Like everything was glossed over. I did love seeing serra realizing all the ways he showed her throughout the years and how much he had fallen for her. I loved his family and glad they ate getting books. It was a sweet ending, but man, I feel off after reading most of it.

This book was just perfect and everything that I needed yesterday. I've been focusing on my academics alot more in the past few days and I was facing withdrawal symptoms for not touching a book. I tried to find a decent read that was quick and would satisfy the hopeless romantic in me. I was reading this one synopsis which reminded me of Catharina Maura and I'm like wait hold on! I love her books so maybe I could read something by her!
I've read three other books from the same series and I loved them. They kept me hooked. I find this book and I loved the synopsis so I get cozied up and start reading. Today morning I finished it and holy was it good??
The amount of annotating I've done! It was so well written and plotted. It didn't seem rushed even though everything was fast paced.

SPOILER ALERT
XAVIER KINGSTOM my man!! Where do I even start? The way this man sees through her and knows her so very well.
Sierra was a perfect mix for a fmc I could ask for. She was understanding, patient but stood her ground when needed.
Their chemistry right at the beginning. The bickering, eye contact, HOLY SHIT. Loved the involvement of Xavier's family. The side characters weren't overshadowing rather adding stars to this book.
Overall it was a fun read for me. Fresh and just what I needed. Finished it in six hours. Maura served and I ate it all up. An emotional rollercoaster for sure considering that I actually cried for my girl Sierra. Yes, I do hate Xavier for having communication issues like that but oh how I love that man.
