Xavier has been in love with her for years. They’ve had this rivalry that’s really only been from Sienna’s side, and he essentially lets her do whatever she wants in the name of revenge - it’s actually really sweet how he went about it all. He orchestrates their arranged marriage (even though Grandma had it all planned out, anyway), they get married, she hates it for about 2 seconds until she realises that she has feelings for him, too. They’re in a good place in their new relationship when his insecurities cause him to retreat, she does everything she can to bridge the space for a few months before she resigns herself to the idea that maybe he doesn’t want her anymore (not true, but he’s a stupid boy that cannot regulate his feelings). Then her beloved grandmother dies (the only parental figure in her life as both parents died when she was very young). She clams up in every sense of the word, he realises what a massive idiot he’s been when she gives up on trying to keep the magic alive and leaves him. His family love her to bits (she found the family she always wanted) take her side in all of this snd support her in every way.
He finally grovels enough that she stops asking him for a divorce and they get back together.

DID NOT FINISH: 42%

I wanted to love it. Her books are really either love em or hate em for me, and this just wasn’t going the way I needed it to. I wanted more of their relationship and the tension but kept getting other people pushing them together or overstepping boundaries. Raven in particular annoyed me in this. Anyway, I decided to check reviews to see if it was going to be more of them or if the pushy ones were in it a lot. Instead most of the reviews said that it goes down hill from 40% and things get worse later in the book.

The biggest thing that made me give up was that Sierra kept saying that she hated him and had good reasons but never stuck to it. And everyone around her just ignored what she was saying and kept pushing them together. I wanted tension and longing and “fuck it” but got “well, maybe everyone’s right” and her being treated like a child and him being obsessed but also annoying and unable to admit his mistakes. Seriously, everything he ever did is just written off as “he was so in love”.

I adore this series

Another fantastic book in the series. I pretty much consumed it in 2 days. Sierra is def one of my fav Windsors and her story was filled with a lot of angst. I teared up a few times in this book. I have had mixed feelings about Grandma Windsor but this book made me love her. Sad this series is over but can't wait for the next book by Catharina Maura.

Audiobook was not great. Narrators were not good.

Perfection. What a great way to end the Windsor series. I’ve been waiting forever for Xavier and Sierra’s story. I cried and laughed but mostly cried.
