Okay I think that was a perfect ending to the series I’m going to miss them so much!! I loved the dynamic between Sierra and Xavier the push and pull, brothers best friend and it’s always been you tropes. I felt Xavier lacking in a lot of ways especially in his shady business or where he sneaks off to! Had so much potential for morally grey mmc with a shady business of “taking care” of people.. unfortunately we don’t get any depth on that part of Xave in the book which is a let down. It was cute, romantic and emotional and I enjoyed it! Oh man I’m not ready to talk or process the emotional damage and rage this book inflicted 70-90% of this book. Ending felt slightly rushed. Could have always used more groveling!!!

This book is worth a million billion stars and I won't hear anything else. I didn't think Cat could ever top my fave couple (I'll always love Celeste and Zane), but she did.
Sierra and Xavier's rivalry has been sprinkled throughout the entirety of the series and I have been counting down until their book came out. Thank you to Cat & team for the ARC because I absolutely DEVOURED this. I downloaded it and finished it in the same day. I couldn't put it down.
Was there miscommunication? Yeah, of course. But the angst that it created had my heart POUNDINGGGG. I had tears in my eyes at a few points because I just felt so connected to these characters and wanted the best for them. They are so clearly meant for each other and to see them fighting it was heartbreaking. Xavier has fears from his past that he can't move on from and Sierra has only wanted a marriage that can be a forever kind of love.
Cat always writes the best banter and angst with characters that are lovable and relatable. I cannot believe this series is over and I'll never be able to read it for the first time again. It was the best ending to the series.
tropes:
- arranged marriage
- billionaire
- enemies to lovers
- forced proximity
- man obsessed
- he falls first

i loved it. save the best for last, thats for sure!
'third act break up' was lowkey unnecessary tbh. i just felt like his behavior was OOC for Xavier we've seen before that. he needed therapy, sure, but i feel like he'd've kept Sierra closer, not pushed her away. some harsh words were spoken just to drive the plot, but it didn't feel in character for those people. idk. i just don't believe it fully. that man couldn't have watched the love of his life suffer and do nothing. that's not who he is.
i loved how they found their way back together tho. it really is the perfect romance Sierra always read about.

3.25 stars
I really liked the first half, which seemed like a return to the soapy rich people vibes of The Wrong Bride and The Temporary Wife… but then suddenly the characters had to get all dark and dabble in crime. Why couldn’t Sierra and Xavier just have a cute not-really-enemies-to-lovers arranged marriage?
I don’t mind a bit of crime in my romance, but the Windsors were originally introduced as being rich and powerful in a ‘we’ll silence you because we control the media’ sort of way, and not a ‘we’ll silence you because we’ll cut out your tongue’ sort of way, which gave me certain expectations for the stories I’d be getting.
I also couldn’t get into the audiobook performances (the narrators did not seem like the right choice for Sierra or Xavier), so I switched to the ebook and then skimmed quite a lot of the second half.

What a way to end August 2024 & The Windsor series! Such bittersweet feelings, this is definitely the best book in the series & the best from Catherina Maura.
I got so may ups & downs from her, i hated The Wrong Bride & then i started to choose, which siblings i wanted to read & Sienna does stands out every time! So of cos i’m reading her book and pairing her up with Xavier (screams Enemies to Lovers, baby!)
I feel that Catherina Maura has created one of best marriage of convenience husband in Xavier Kingston, he hit the checklist, jackpot & he is the one for our girl, Sierra regardless all the “divine intervention”.
I adore their love
