So much still to find out! Love the twists, the characters, the adventure ... though perhaps could live with a few less characters to keep track of - LOL!

While anything would be better after A Feast For Crows, I once again walk away from these books feeling like I've had my heart ripped out and there's no hope for anyone (in Westeros, across the Narrow Sea, the real world, etc.). There was definitely some feet dragging happening in the plot, but like I said, more happens than the previous book and none of it is on Pyke. And that's worth a lot. A great effort from Martin, and looking forward to the other books, which hopefully don't become absorbed into the television show or a movie.
The parallel timeline between this and the prior outing was...maybe not the narrative choice I would have made (especially given the long time between the two novels being published, though, that didn't impact me - I just picked up the series this year).
If you liked the first four, this is more of the same: rich characters, intriguing plot twists, and a breathless anticipation of how it's all going to end.

Some of the characters' stories really felt unfinished compared to the other books. And never did I think I could love a character I used to hate, but George has a magnificent talent for creating complex characters.
oh so this is where him not having finished the series actually matters to me now. UGH truly such a masterpiece i really do hope i see it finished because i want to see what he’s been cooking up. definitely reignited my love for fantasy.
