Picked this up at the library, wasn’t aware it was a sequel. Still interesting, but I can see I really missed out on some of the story.

In a story that was unpredictable to begin with, The Survival of Molly Southbourne takes the narrative in strange new directions that are no less fulfilling than the first book. Out of place in a larger world full of mystery and violence, Molly Southbourne simply wants to survive. But questioning who she is while the threads of all she thinks she knows unravel around her--survival may not be such a simple prospect after all.

Novellas are an inherently brief form of storytelling, and with both books in this series so far, Thompson packs in a lot of weight, crafting a compelling narrative that is engaging and unsettling as a story, while also posing the sorts of questions that linger with you long after you've run out of pages.
