This had a few interesting parts but I mostly kept wondering, "Why am I reading this?"

Informative, influential and ya, humorous. Because of this book, I'm no longer squeamish of surgery videos. Quite the opposite. I seek them out to see and learn how weird and wonderful the human body is and how we've learned to master it. This is only achievable because of a lot of the history found in this book. Donate your body, people! At the very least, your organs.

This book was a very convincing argument to donate organs or donate your entire body to science after you are no longer using it. I knew cadavers improved medicine through dissection and surgical practice by doctors, but I had no idea that cadavers donated to science could also save lives through experiments involving vehicle crashes, mine removal, body armor, radiation exposure, and all kinds of CSI stuff that helps us catch the bad guys. I had no idea our discarded shells could be so useful for humanity and even life-saving.

Very good book. Both well written and informative.

Not for the squeamish, this book is simultaneously fascinating and humorous.
