Definitely interesting to learn more about these pseudo-elves and the allure of escaping reality only to exist in a weird state of bliss and brutality. Guts is having to do some thinking with his noggin about his morals and stuff. I do miss the court politics and interpersonal dynamics of the Golden Age arc, but I have high hopes for this religious order who are following Guts. Love me a good religion storyline.

2024 reread
I love how like, deeply I am thinking about themes and shit back when I first read this. Cool fights! The Behelit that Guts has on him being like, brought up again! Farnese and her religion! Fucked fey shit! Wahoo! Some truly iconic panels in this volume, although that is true of all of them I suppose.
