As I said before, I'm a total sucker for WWII stories. This one totally touched my heart and drew me in. I immediately fell in love with the characters. I would 100% recommend reading this book.

What a beautiful true story about the perseverance of 2 young souls placed in a concentration camp. When Lale finds himself in a place of power at the camps because of his ability to speak multiple languages, he begins using his power for the good of his fellow prisoners, secretly bringing in extra food and supplies for all to share. When he meets Gita, he becomes even more determined to survive and find his way to her when they are (hopefully) both free. A story of love, hardships and the fight for survival.
