It was… fine. I was making steady progress, but then when I didn’t finish in time for book club, I lost any and all motivation to finish this book. I am slightly curious on how it ends but not enough to actually finish reading it now I guess. Some of the tone and sarcasm was fun for me. I definitely had several LOL moments at the levity of the narrative and dialog but ultimately the story just didn’t grab me.

Skvěle vybalancovaná oddechovka, s trochou smutku, lásky, radosti, romantiky i humorem. Kniha, která vás přenese mezi záhony, zeleninu a žížalí čaj. To vše pod horkým kalifornským sluncem, s pár vtipně podanými zahradnickými tipy. Super čtení na léto i jako motivace si vypěstovat něco pro sebe.

I always forget how much I love Abbi Waxman's characters.
Do vegetables really grow that fast in LA? because they don't grow that fast in Seattle.

An likable cast of characters and humor that almost impeccably matches my own. Ends a bit abruptly though!

I'm a fan of romantic comedies especially when feeling the need to 'escape.' Lilian is a young widow with two daughters, a job as an illustrator and a wild, wildly supportive sister, Rachel. Lilian's boss suggests she take a gardening class in preparation for an upcoming book. Rachel joins the class, the class becomes a community and relationships happen. Light, funny and satisfying, this will be published in May.

As a widow and a gardener this book was a light hearted read that made me feel happiness can be reached again. I was a bit apprehensive when a friend sent it to me but I really enjoyed it and it’s made me think a lot about my situation and has inspired me. Gardening tips are great too im using them!
