Amazing!!! Loved it as much as the first two series with Daine and Alanna. Tamora Pierce has done it again with Keladry. Same type of heroin yet as different as can be from Daine and Alanna. I love that she always brings past characters back into her newer books. Awesome!

4.25 stars. The fact that this book covered a span of a few years meant that the general pacing and balance between action and down time often felt a bit off. Overall, however, it was handled far better than in the first Song of the Lioness book. This was a fine instalment, and I'm looking forward to Kel's adventures as a squire.

This is just a "typical" book written by Tamora Pierce. I liked it. There are, however still some questions left open in the end and I'm not really sure whether they will be adressed in the next book, so that's a pity.
