3-5 stars depending on the chapters I was reading.

Overall I liked the book but I found it extremely uneven. The differing viewpoints ranged from great to confusing/complex. For example, from very early into the book I was finding the multiple religion hard to follow, I went along with it thinking it would become clear and it just got more complex. Then we switch to much simpler storylines which were very well done.

I'm very glad I read Mistborn and Warbreaker before this as I'm not sure I would have been as enthusiastic about reading the whole Cosmere.

Elantris is slow to build. Fantastic and worth the pay off! By the end it is trademark Sanderson.

World, plot, and the mystery/suspense plotlines brought up in this book were all enjoyable, and the character work was not as bad.

While I think this is Sanderson's weakest novel, that doesn't really mean that it wasn't enjoyable for my (and for my tastes).
