I have enjoyed the books in this series in the past. I found this book at a local museum for sale and enjoy learning about Chinese Canadian history in Canada. What has caused my rating for this book is the lack of detail in the main story of the Yip family. The book jumped around the history of the Chinese in Canada but jumped around between the history of all Chinese and the more specific story of the Yip family. It lacks flow and I often found it cumbersome.
