Another wild ride with Reilly. I still can't believe what he actually did in that book, but I know one thing... I love Knight!!! Still Jack West Jr. is my favorite one :D

Another good read by Reilly. Lots of action. Unpredictable. Adventurous. A story that takes you around the world from Siberia to France to Afghanistan to Saudi Arabia. A culmination of the world's best fighters coming together to hunt each other down for a pricey bounty. The violence was too graphic and some of the stunts were a bit over the top. Not as good as Ice Hunt, but better than Area 7. Nevertheless, a great read that keeps the reader engaged.

THE BEST!!! THE BEST!!! THE BEST!!!

This is my favourite Scarecrow novel! The Scarecrow being chased by Bounty Hunters? Hells yes!

The addition of Knight and Rufus was THE BEST! I love them so much. They are basically a mirror of Mother and Scarecrow and that’s just the greatest thing! I’m very invested in them as characters. Also Scarecrow and Knight’s relationship is beautiful.

I knew going in who was going to live and who was going to die so I wasn’t surprised but the way in which a certain died really shook me.

Gosh, I really can’t explain how amazing this book was! I’m so in love with it. The characters are amazing and the story was so thrilling and entertaining.

This review is for the whole scarecrow series. If you love action-packed suspense thrillers, this series should be among your first choices. As we read on, we find ourselves aside Captain Shane Schofield- facing what he faces, feeling what he feels, reacting violently against anyone who dare defy him. Though you get familiarised with the notion that Shane never loses a countdown, it still doesn't lessen the suspense of the cliffhangers.

another brilliant book in the scarecrow series

I was a bit disappointed with this book. Ice Station is one of my favourite books and Area 7 was really good too, but Scarecrow was underwhelming.

I don't know what happened, but the writing quality took a steep dive in this book. Things went from being fun and exciting (but a bit over the top and improbable) in Ice Station, to silly, drawn out and completely impossible in this one. This book went far beyond the usual suspension of disbelief you have to exercise in Reilly's books.

Things became cheesy and cliché, and meaningful dialogue was swapped out for cringeworthy one-liners. Unnecessary technical details were distracting and broke up the flow of the book.

The last third of this book redeemed it a lot, as did the characters. I love David Fairfax and I was really happy that he had a pretty big role in this book. Mother is always great and I was happy with the addition of Aloysius Knight to the series.

Hopefully the last book and the novella will be a return to form.
