Webb Sunday was looming over me, all angry and gorgeous and speaking directly to me. It was harder to believe than talking glassware, frankly, but much less concerning for my mental health.

And another one by May Archer that just flew by! I was so excited for Webb's story once I finished Pick Me and couldn't wait to delve in once I saw that this had been released.

I love that this story started as a hate/love, but very quickly changed course once Webb actually spoke to Luke and realised how much of a sweetheart he is and how hard it would be to hate him. And when a night of drunken reconciliation somehow turns into an accidental betrothal? Take. My. Money.

Absolutely loved every bit of this book - especially Luke getting all protective over Aiden! - and I can't wait for Hawk & Jack's book next!

Love the small towns this author creates no the sweet messages of family and community with all the quirky characters. The grumpy/sunshine, enemies to lovers, single dad, found family tropes here shine.

Webb is a single father who bears the responsibilities of the world on his shoulders. Luke is a sunshiney, glass half full, lonely first grade teacher who is trying to make the best of a run of pretty bad luck. Webb dislikes Luke intensely for something totally not Luke’s fault (and other reasons) but after a night of drunken confessions they decide to be friends and then accidentally set themselves up in a relationship in which the whole town becomes invested.

The story is really cute, at times heartwarming and at times heart breaking. There is humor as well as drama. The crisis point is so well written it puts a perfect exclamation point on the themes of the book. The epilogue is sweet. The ending of the book gives us a segue into the next book which I can’t wait to read.

To be honest, I'm flip flopping between a 4 and a 5 because I enjoyed this so much.

A completely captivating comfort read. No word of a lie, my soul feels soothed after finishing it. I'm sad to leave Little Pippin Hollow for so long.

Loveable characters, low angst, tender declarations,
