This book is one of the best books I have ever read. It had me laughing and crying every 5 seconds, truly an emotional rollercoaster. My life is better after reading this book. Olivie Blake is truly a master of prose

This was such a unique concept. I think I’ll enjoy a reread of the physical book. I typically listen to audiobooks while I work on other things and that was probably my problem here. I thought the book was really interesting but I think I missed a lot of the early transitions and got confused. Once I was able to place characters and really follow the plot, it was incredibly enjoyable. I’ll absolutely re-read at some point because i know I missed a lot that will make this book even better.

This was confusing, but in a good way. I only really started to understand what is happening like half way through, but still everything before that was enjoyable to read. And it all came together nicely.
It's also really funny, but at some points the sassiness got a bit too much for me.
And there were to many characters, that didn't get enough time.

I've read another book by this author, but this one is my favorite by far. It's confusing and fun, funny and emotional, and has such a satisfying conclusion. I laughed out loud so many times. I had a fabulous time with this one.

You're also dropped into certain scenes knowing nothing, or even knowing who is in them, and you're not supposed to. I should have bookmarked these to come back to, once I knew what was going on in them. I think it'll be a great reread!

Darkly satirical and bursting with an eclectic, found family style cast of characters (and creatures) that I found thoroughly endearing.

I didn’t know too much about the plot, just that a vampire estate agent calls on the services of a medium (and godson of Death) to help her with the ghost currently haunting one of her listings. Which sounded like an incredibly fun read, but what we get is soo much more.

With her deliciously descriptive prose, Blake immerses us in a world of immortals, a high stakes game against death and a pretty deep (at least I thought so) exploration into mortality, life and it’s emotional vulnerabilities that really brought our flawed and loveably chaotic characters to life.

The complexity involved in manoeuvring soo many interconnected characters through multiple timelines (and flashbacks), without losing any of its light-hearted whimsy was remarkably impressive.

And though I loved soo many characters,I have to admit Viola’s demonic bestie Isis —and her penchant for winding up Fox— quickly made her one of my favourite characters who I’d absolutely love to see more of in any future projects… perhaps even a prequel or spinoff of some sort.

Overall, this was a satisfyingly pacy and unputdownable read that will definitely appeal to fans of Good Omens, whimsical paranormal fantasy or the found family trope.
