It was okay. The characters were okay, the chemistry was okay. I just wasn't entertained enough. The plot became kinda dull at the end. I didn't like how Percy was stubborn and how quickly she fell for Gavin. I wished she would make him work for it. I didn't like her brother, Paul. He seemed like a wastrel, so lazy and cowardly. I hope he gets better in his book otherwise its dnf before I even start reading it. Although I am curious about Kent and Marianne's book so there's that.

This book was much better than the first book in this series. Good tension and slow burn between characters. Nice slightly dark romance themes resolved. Overall very enjoyable.

Our leading lady is Persephone and she thinks of our hero as Hades, who happens to run a gaming hell called the Underworld. This was the retelling I was hoping for in a previous read this year.
The relationship was fantastic, the cameo's from previous characters was perfect.
There was no 0-smut in 4 pages like the first book, but the amount of foreplay in here keeps it on par with book 1 in that department.

I refuse to DNF 3 books in a row so I finished this...
This was not for me, I don't care how steamy it was. Even on audio it was a chore, probably due to the narrator giving Gavin the bored-artisto-rake voice.

This is a Hades and Persephone retelling and early on there's a reference to it, Persephone (heroine) explains the myth but realizes Gavin recognizes it and is shocked! Shocked that he knows mythology! And that is how this book felt, like Callaway did not trust readers to recognize the retelling so she hits you over the head with references through out.
