Bruh why are there so many descriptions of a 13 year olds breasts and vulva
This book is chilling and gruesome.
The main character is an alcoholic who suffered from obsessive compulsive disorder, suicide ideation, and a history of self harm. Throughout the book, her choices and dialogue really show how she lacks any care for herself. Even to the point where she defends a story about her sexual assault. Who can blame her? She has a mother who continuously tells her that she doesn’t love or like her.
It was an interesting choice to have her as the main character that is working on unraveling this murder case in her hometown. She’s a deeply imperfect person who goes so far as to sleep with a grieving teenager, just days after sleeping with the detective working on the same murder case as her. Her complexity as a protagonist is what makes her so fascinating. She’s intelligent, well-read, and independent, but she’s also anxious, dysfunctional, and full of self loathing. As you learn more about her history in Wind Gap and with her family, you begin to understand WHY she is the way that she is.
I will say that the ending felt very rushed. I would’ve appreciated the discovery of the murderer to have happened earlier or for there have been more fall out after the arrests were made.
All in all, it was a good read and great audiobook listen. I don’t blame Camille. No sane person would’ve come out of that family unblemished. The one that did turned out to be just as insane as their mother.

Wow. This book blew me away, I can definitely understand why Flynn's books are getting so much attention.
Everything from the vibe to the way Camille gives bits and pieces of the whole story over the length of the novel is just so well executed. I really felt the emotions she was roiling through and the way the mystery unraveled so horribly for her. I also enjoyed the fact that everything tied together. All the mysteries, however small, were solved eventually and they were all intertwined.

The premise was okay. But the story went downhill starting from halfway. The plot twist wasn't strong enough and the characters were just.... uuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!
