Well written, well told, well paced, but predictable. I’m so surprised, because I’d only seen people talking about the “twist” and praising the “reveal”… but??? I’m trying to wrap my head around how anyone didn’t see the book ending exactly this way.

I originally gave this book 3 stars. What happened at the very end, and how the story really sat with me afterward, made me rethink my inital 3 star review. I thought that the outcome was predictable, and even after the reveal, it still was to some extent. It was the manner in which it was written that changed my 3 stars to 4. Her way of telling the story is just so nicely, for lack of a better term, fucked-up, that it sat with me on my 2 hour car ride home last night. Then, as I was explaining the book to other people, I noticed how into the details I was becoming and how I kept having to back up to explain other aspects of the characters that really made a difference in the plot line. So, 4 stars. I'd read it again. My only wish is that there was more gritty intensity throughout the book. I found that some parts I just quickly read through, looking for the meatier parts. Or maybe I'm just a weirdo, ha ha. I do plan on reading her next book.
I just really dont care about this story... Sorry
I probably should have stopped halfway through but I wanted to know how it would end just enough to keep reading, but the story was too dark for me. Gone Girl was dark and twisted too, but this was another level of sick and depraved.
Also, the story just wasn’t really that good. Unlikeable characters, unrealistic plot, poor construction and plot development at times. Would definitely recommend a pass on this one.
