What a TWIST. My first time reading Gillian Flynn, and I started to enjoy her writing more and more as the story went on after feeling it somewhat choppy to begin with. The characters in this story… Camille is an excruciatingly detailed character as well as Amma. What a fantastically crazy ending.

I devoured this book in 2 days. I have been watching the HBO mini-series "Sharp Objects" and I just could not wait for it to end after watching the last episode. I needed to know what was going to happen and since this book has been on my to read list for years, I figured, why not? This book is twisted and dark and SO GOOD. Camille Preaker is a journalist from Wind Gap, Missouri, now living in Chicago, who is sent back to her deranged home town to write about the murders of 2 young girls in the community. Wind Gap is home to a plethora of bizarre, intertwined characters, and the memory of the death of Camille's younger sister, Marian. To say that Camille can not handle going back home is an understatement. It brings up horrific memories and forces her to relive things in her past that she has suppressed for a long time. If you are looking for a psychological story, this is it. Surprisingly, HBO has done a great job with the mini-series, but, as usual, the book blows it out of the water.
WOW. This book was not at all what I was expecting it to be...
I have a bad habit of flipping to the back of the book and reading the last paragraph, just because, but this time I accidently flipped to the last chapter or so and read a line in there that sort of gave some information away! But even though it gave a really important piece of information this story still caught me off guard and by surprise!
I though for sure I knew who the culprit was but yea no...

- Writing was awesome. Very vivid and realistic
- Great book! Short read so definitely check it out :)
