A very endearing and sweet read. It was a very believable tale in many ways. I love the idea of book ninjas (or Book Fairies as I’ve seen them called) sharing book in public places. I’ll certainly be keeping my eyes open for some!
The book itself is a nice easy read. Told mostly through Frankie’s eyes or
Blog posts. I’m really intrigued as to how the co-authors actually wrote it!
If you like books by authors like Jenny Colgan, I think you’d get on will with this one too.

This was so sweet. I will admit I did have to persevere with it the start because it wasn’t instant love - Frankie was a bit too much of the overused bumbling and awkward heroine and it was a bit over the top - but it did grow on me after a while. I preferred the writing of the blog post entries, and it is a co-written book so maybe that explains it. I’m not sure what their co-writing process was and who wrote what bit. And what’s not to love about a book all about loving books.

Nothing special- but I enjoyed my time reading it!
Maybe would have been a good short story rather than a complete book?

This was the book that started booksontherail. I had wanted to check out this book for ages as I think booksontherail is an amazing initiative.
Frankie Rose was desperate for love. So, inspired by her job at The Little Brunswick Street Bookshop, she had a brilliant idea of leaving her favourite books on trains and trams with her email address to find a perfect, well-read guy.
Aw, Frankie and Sunny’s love story was a different kind of whirlwind romance. The romantic gestures introduced throughout the book wouldn’t be something that’d work on me, but I’m not Frankie and so I enjoyed reading about it.
I didn’t really like Frankie’s work ethics though. Even though she was working for her friend, she shouldn’t have stolen the books (i.e. work properties) for her own personal purposes. I kept thinking I was interested to know how the bookshop could survive this way. I also didn’t like the cheating plot line - I cringed every time it was mentioned lightly as a plot humour.
I loved the blog entries between the chapters, and how the comments section had a story within a story on its own.
All in all, a decent book.
