This book destroyed me, literally crushed my heart, my soul, i have no more tears left. I cried throughout 50% of the book. The beginning, the ending… it was almost too much to take and i‘m happy it‘s over, for now. I have to wait to read joey‘s story because i know it will hurt even more.

When you want to read something REALLY emotional, read this series!

Johnny, Joey, Gibsie, the kravanaghs and Shanen are all my heroes. They had all so much character, soul, growth.

I cried so hard for the lynch-boys, especially for Baby sean. He was the sweetest. After crying ‚oe’ when joey left? I was sobbing so hard. Even when i only think about it…

These two books were almost too much for me, yeah, in a good way but also in a sad, painful way…

When i can feel the characters and i can see through their eyes i can feel their pain. And in these books? I felt EVERYTHING!

I have to read something ‚soft‘ and funny after this to recover. Because my heart hurt a lot after this!

The pacing in this book is what Blinding 13 wished it was. The speed with this book was 👩‍🍳💋 and I ate it up.

For starters, Joey broke my heart. He just ripped it to pieces with all that was going on for him and for the blame he placed on himself. He should not have had to do all that he had to do and he should have had a mom or dad to guide him. But instead he had himself, and that is where all the heartbreak begins. I cannot wait to read his book and I just know my heart will shatter even more having to read about Aoife and Joey and the things they will go through. I also really want to mention how much I loved the side characters. Gibsie, Claire, Lizzie, Hughie, and all of Shannon's brothers. They all were just amazing and added so much lightness to this book and for that I LOVED IT EVEN MORE. I hope they all get their own books and I hope she does them all justice.

Now, Johnny. Oh my goodness, how i fell even more in love with this man. He was just everything. He thankfully disobeyed everything Shannon's mom and brother said and he fought so hard to prove his love and prove why he was there. He was protective and loving, and he made sure that Shannon constantly knew that she was loved and that he was going nowhere. His injury broke my heart, but i secretly was very happy it happened. It allowed him to see in a way that rugby was not everything. And that his life outside of it, is a life worth living. And that was just so exciting to read about. I love Johnny Kavanaugh and I just can't wait to see his character in the books to come.

Shannon. Oh my goodness, I wish I could give this girl a hug. She is my age and she experienced all that trauma. How she survived and how she pushed through her circumstances, I will never grasp. She is so freakin strong and she is someone who deserves so much happiness in her life. She was also very relatable in some aspects. Her social life, the way her and Johnny interacted, the way she second guessed and over thought. That's where I found a deeper connection to her character. I pray that in this universe, this couple lasts. And I hope they get all the happiness and goodness the world has to give.

I am so happy this series is continuing and that I picked it up. And I'm also very glad that this book made up for the slowness the first book had to offer. The found family aspect makes me smile, the pure love Johnny and Shannon hold for each other will forever make my heart melt, and everything about this book just won't ever disappoint me. I cannot wait to continue on and read Joey's book next.

I love this second book so much better. The writing is so much better and more consistent in its quality. I also really enjoyed the relationship and it was very heartwarming. I’m glad that they stuck with each other unlike many books when the protagonists in relationships leave each other because they feel they’d be better without each other. They showed unity + communication and the strength of those qualities in a relationship.
