I really liked this book - from a planning perspective and from a life theory perspective. I was in market research and project planning for 11 years, and used everything from a Filofax to Franklin Covey to Levenger. Did the group and corporate scheduling in Microsoft calendar like we were supposed to, but always had a paper calendar I could look at, draw on, write notes on, and color code. Right now I love my Erin Condren, but I also keep a small notebook on the side with my list of things to do for the day and reminders in it. I don't want to carry my Erin Condren around town in my purse, although I've seen people who do carry it in their briefcase.
I read the book to see if I could use any of the ideas to add to my current planner or little notebook. I don't think I will totally switch over to the Bullet Journal Method, but I will steal a good idea or two from it. If you are looking to add to your arsenal of planning, I would at least read the book. I own it and am happy to loan it out to any of my St. Louis friends who want to read it.

I first heard of bullet journaling about two years ago. It kind of went in and out of my brain but must have stuck around in some form because I remembered the actual name of the process. Then I started to see all these people carrying around notebooks and I was like "haven't you guys every heard of Google calendar?"
Despite my reliance on Google calendar, I would still miss things. Possibly because calendar reminders trigger something in my brain that leads me to connect them with hitting the snooze button. Then there's my seasonal affective disorder that leads me to overanalyze my life at the end of every year.
Anyway, so yes, I am going to try going analog for tracking projects and goals. We'll see how it works.
Carroll's book gives a lot more than just the basics of bullet journaling. It provides exercises for setting goals, clarifying those goals, and breaking them into more manageable pieces.
So anyway, I am going to try it out. I'll set a reminder on my phone to revisit this in June and let everyone know how it's going.

I’m late to the BuJo game but have been curious for a while. I’m convinced to give the system a try! I especially enjoyed the personal examples of how others have used this method. I also appreciated the author’s inviting tone. I didn’t feel pressured to use the system.

While you can read about the "what" of the BuJo method online, this book dives into the "why" in an easily digestible style. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to give that method a try, to avoid falling into pitfalls.

Good tips.
You can get most of the how-tos on their website. But this book puts it in context and brings some important whys. Worth the reading.

this book helped me heal my *very* toxic relationship with bullet journaling (:
