This book has had one of the biggest impacts on my life and made me think deeper than any other book I've ever read. Would highly recommend.

Chesterton's point of reference in all things is his own intelligence. Things are true because he thought of them and /then/ because someone else agreed with him. The book comes across rather arrogant and frustrating at points. Not all of it was irritating, however, and I found quite a few sections I found to be rather quote-able. I don't regret having read it, but I wouldn't recommend it.

It's a wonderful work. It's a beautiful work. It's an uproariously joyful work. It's a work one should come back to again and again when the subtle cacophony of the modern world tries to slither its way inside you. Here is an antitode to the poisoned, a boost to the vigorous. I will surely come back to this work and maybe will find the sweet fruits fermented to sweeter wine. I would not describe the contents of the book for it is a dense work, but it is sharp enough to slay giants. I finish my review with how I have surmised Chesterton:

Chesterton pulls your leg, but it's the world that slips and falls.

I wanted to love this book. I have seen many Chesterton quotes that I think are absolutely beautiful. But man, I just felt he rambled continuously and had such a hard time following his train of thought. I know many people love his writing, but this was just not for me.
