This book was a rollercoaster of emotions and had be spinning from what was going on. It was easily one of my favorite listens. I was so shocked at how emotional I'd get with the characters and their struggles and even more supirsed at the plot twists. I was expecting a love story, which is got, but also got a little mystery. Just when I think I know things, I'm thrown out again with another realization
I felt really connected with the characters and even cried when hearing about Ava's struggle. Feeling terrible for Alex. Loving them and loving them coming together.
Though this was an amazing listen(the VA's were JUST SOO AHSHAHA*chefs kiss*) i will say, though I know this is a billionaire romance and isn't supposed to be realistic, there were some things Alex did that felt a little too unreal. Making it a bit fanfiction like. Alex's emense amount of money i can get behind and try to rationalize. But it felt just a tad, a smidgen, unreal whenhe has a literal entire fake police investigation. And then also didn't get caught for literally any single one of his actions that occurred at the mansion. Like, I get he's loaded but d****, didn't know we had it like that out here.
I will also say, I know in books we can excuse or even like Alex's possessiveness. Liking it even in practice perhaps. I didn't mind it really,except for London. When he quite literally tells ava he's never leaving her because she's his. Loved, by the way, but in reality life hed be arrested or at least a restraining order. Alex thinks he's some kind of God or modern day supervillain. Literally the modern day mafia Maleficent. Ruining life's left and right lmao
But overall I loved this book. I felt it was very well rounded, no loose ends, a romance and a slight mystery to it. The ending was happy and good.(and the smut was WOOF 🐶🐶) can't wait to continue~

es esmu tik ļoti vīlusies. es tiešām cerēju, ka grāmata būs laba, jo tik daudz laba par to biju dzirdējusi, bet nekā. sākums bija daudzsološs, bet tad beigās man tas patika arvien mazāk un mazāk. lasot aleksa volkova skatupunktu, atklāju, ka lasu to ar saviebtu seju. viņu attiecībām burtiski nebija pamata, un viss stāsts balstījās tikai un vienīgi gultas priekos. man jau apnika lasīt vienu un to pašu, un alekss volkovs ar savu "overprotective alpha" type of shit iedeva man pārāk daudz sarkanos karogus. dialogi bija tik stulbi, grāmatai gandrīz vai nebija plot, viss bija tik nereālistiski, ka viss tik vienkārši var atrisināties un... ugh es nevaru.
