It's readable but not totally believable. Glad I finished it but wouldn't rush to recommend.

“Love is a strange thing; it takes you by surprise.”

This story was really beautiful! I teared up many times. Not sure what it says about me, but I related to Ove in a lot of ways. The found family was touching, and the ending was perfect to me.

I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because there were some moments that dragged and felt repetitive. Also, it's a given that Ove is a grumpy older man with some backwards beliefs, and I was okay with the portrayal of those things for the most part. But his descriptions of fat people, as well as the author's portrayal of the only fat person in the story, made me uncomfortable.

I knew this was going to be a heartwarming read going in and it fully exceeded my expectations. A wonderful story with wonderful characters. I'll definitely have to reread it another time. Even cried a lil.
