This was a fast read because I was anticipating a plot twist the whole time! The language also felt like the main character would at some point have a big revelation. Unfortunately, it wasn’t what I hoped and although it was super creepy and had a few surprises they weren’t quite as shocking as I thought they could be. All the science terms sounds super believable though, haha!
Having recommended this book to multiple people, and talking about it lots I'm upgrading to 5* from my original (but it finished boo) rating.

Man, this was a JOURNEY -- And I'm gonna be honest, our main character Evelyn is not entirely the easiest character to love and root for. She's not terribly empathetic, she's spiteful and vindictive, she's hard and cold, but it's not completely without reason or without end. As the story progresses, we get glimpses into her marriage, into the dissolution of that marriage, into her childhood that all help to decode why she is as abrasive and callous as she seemingly is.
But the greater questions that this novel raises about identity, and molding others, and coming to terms with pain and hurt, and the prospect of playing God, and what vengeance looks like, if and when it's justifiable -- I LOVED all of that. There were actually a couple curve balls that Gailey chucked in for good measure that I also really appreciated.
All in all, I thought this was a super compelling read, and it's definitely intrigued me to look through more of her other releases =0)

Narrator of the audiobook was excellent. Interesting take on an old concept.

A husband creates a clone to replace his wife. What could go wrong? Everything!
Less of a thriller and more of an exploration of betrayal and personhood. Nevertheless, something about the writing style and the narrator's delivery had me hooked from beginning to end.
