It’s a sweet book. I enjoyed the overarching plot and struggles between Coyote & Rodeo. It was a very sad book. I wanted it to be a found family book and it had hints of it and pieces where it felt that way but it didn’t end with it. Other than the main two characters the rest feel pretty flat. Salvador has his moments and I love what we do see of him but he isn’t given enough. Val has no depth to her despite her part supposedly bringing the biggest climax and issue. The cat has more time & descriptors afforded to it than Val does. The goat is honestly more of a character than her. Overall it’s a lovely story, I did like it. I don’t think I liked the ending. The whole thing was a journey but I didn’t feel like it really wrapped up fully. I wanted more completeness. I was left feeling sad and like our main two characters still had more to say or do.
