This could also be called a military story, it seems so much like what I would imagine would happen if we were invaded by evil aliens. We get a realistic look at the soldiers' lives as well as the fight. I love the character of Celia Parsons, she's a skilled ex-SWAT sniper, über focused in the fight, yet still a woman. Hawke starts out a total a$$, but the man comes out eventually. This is a SciFi, military, romance, but most of all it's d@mn good story telling.
