Better written than book two, and the mystery solution was wayyyy more plausible than whatever happened in book two. Not entirely sold on the killer's motivation. I liked the post-solving-the-mystery ending to this one.

As long as you are prepared to suspend your disbelief that the police would allow these things to happen, these are such fun books.
Geoffrey Lushington, councillor and virtual saint is poisoned by aconite in his coffee at a local council meeting. The three friends are now officially recognised by the police as some sort of civilian helpers, and crack on with solving the case. Everyone has a secret and it was a cunning ending. Suzie, Judith and Becks are fun company and their friendship is warm and appealing.

This book left me a little disappointed.

I missed some personal growth and side stories of the main characters. I was really hoping to read more about Suzie and her plans at the beginning of the book, but that fizzled out with an underwhealming reason. The only personal story lines about Becks and Judith
are about B's annoying mother in law, and J's past acquaintance. This gets really easily solved all the way at the end of the book.

There were a lot of suspects and persons of interest, and I thought it was really cool to
uncover everyone s secrets and have them confess. I wonder about concequences

I could have loved this ending, but it felt very fatfobic to have the whole mystery solved by
the killer lost a lot of weight and now he will gain it all back
.

The whole fire at Judiths house was really cool. Letting go of the past was a big step for her. I do wonder if her cat is okay.
