I am torn about this book. There were parts I really loved and parts that were pretty boring or just dragged on a bit. I loved North what a cool character and the fact that he could get inside of her was a fund twist. I am interested to see what happened to and how they get Darlington back in the next book. Will wait until it comes out and then decide if I am going to read it.

First off please check triggers before reading this as there was some things in there I wasn’t personally expecting. Leigh Bardugo’s books tend to be hit or miss for me and unfortunately this one was a miss. The premise I do like. I think that this could have been an amazing book. However, the writing was strange? It was excessive at times and written quite confusingly for me personally. I also still don’t really understand how the magic system works despite finishing the whole book but that could be a me thing. My main issue was that the characters were bland. I had no one that I wanted to succeed, I had no one I wanted to fail (apart from those guys in that university house they can leave the book if they please). I personally wouldn’t recommend this.
