Reading this book made me feel like I was having a psychotic break. Catherine Ryan Howard is truly the queen of mystery and thriller novels!!!! I love that there were still some unanswered questions (was anything real?? what's up with the glowing red eyes, a la Mothman??) and still got closure for other parts. A script within a book that seems to be a book written by the character?? Genius. 5/5 stars!!!!!!

This was my first book by this author and I own 2 others by her. I’ll definitely be reading them but it won’t be because I was super thrilled with this read. The overall storyline left me rather underwhelmed at the end and it felt messy being that it was a script within a book which was also based on a book… yeah, exactly. I felt Adele was running 80% of the book and she ended up no where. I’m sorry but if I was really trying to run because I was scared you better believe I wouldn’t end up back at the same house I just left
