This is so the middle third of a trilogy. I had fun with the all-over-the-place-ness of the first part, but the events of this play are truly just a random series of mishaps resulting from King Henry's inability to do... anything besides hope for the best. I'm still looking forward to the Part 3, because we've now set up the set up for my favorite Shakespeare, Richard III. It's also been interesting to get to know Margaret a little better, although she's not the best written of Shakespeare's women by far. From what I know from Richard III, hopefully that will change in Part 3.

Part 2 was far more exciting to me than Part 1. There was significantly more intrigue and despite the first being in the middle of a war, this one had a lot more action.
So many characters that I nearly lost track but then they started dropping like flies and it became a lot easier.
I feel for King Henry VI. He had the crown thrust upon him when he was just a baby and so many feel they have the right to the throne. On top of that his wife is more enamored with another than with him (if she is even in love with him).
I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the final installment.

I feel bad for any props department that takes this on, given the sheer amount of heads on pikes.
I kept getting people confused. It seemed like in my version everyone had multiple names and they weren't consistently called by the same one.
Wow! So much action and intrigue! We finally get to meet Henry the Sixth. He was just a baby in Part 1, and he's still fairly innocent in Part 2. There's a tension between the fact that he's not the rightful ruler according to the laws of inheritance, and that he's the wisest, gentlest, most just of all the people in the play (well in addition to Gloucester). Also I love the (albeit late) introduction of Cade! He's a cross between comic relief and a scary reminder of what's gong on in our current election.

This is my favourite part out of the three. I loved the characters (especially Margaret) and all of the political intrigue and conflicts.
Finished it in one sitting.Woo 3 books in 24 hours go me.
Anyway this was brilliant, much much better than Part 1. It was hilarious at some points and I loved the awful humour Shakespeare presented.
But seriously, if I ever had the opportunity to meet Shakespeare I would hold this play up to him and be like "ffs mate" and then cackle because John Cade made this whole play and he was in it for like 7 pages (in my edition).
