Perfect ending to a perfect series. Of course I didn't want it to end and I love these characters so so so much, but all good things must come to an end.

Here, we get more growth from the trio, as they learn what it takes to create and run a brand, and more of Jin's back story, which I didn't realise I needed so badly until I had it.
It had a good ending, but I do feel it didn't stack up to the promise of the cover. That implied there was some serious growth in their designing skills, but they're still kids and still finding their way, which is fine. But an Epilogue or short of what happens maybe a year or five down the road would have been great. I LOVED Ryo's personal growth being expressed in the clothes again.
There was a bonus story, of the original short that inspired this series. It was much heavier, but also very brave and seemed to cover all the important issues at once.

Of the volumes in this series, to me, this one is the weakest. I may have had a different opinion if I had all four volumes to read in one sitting. The story took a hard swing back to fashion and took the focus off the characters’ search for their identities. As the identity plot point was what had me most intrigued, this was a disappoint. I also felt like quite a lot was crammed into the volume and it ended on a fairly weak note.
… At least until I read the award-winning one-shot Light that was adapted into Boys Run the Riot. The one-shot was a whole other kind of powerful and a reminder why I was intrigued with the series in the first place. Again, I felt like Boys Run the Riot was a story of identity, finding ones true self and advocating for it. The fashion angle was a unique bonus, a plot point I hadn’t yet seen in manga. With that one-shot, it left me feeling a bit more “WOW” at the end.
