A really good book that deserves 4 stars. I loved the bond between the three protagonists and I resonated a lot with Byatt, her povs were my favorites. I do not understand the negative reviews, the criticisms that have been made are two: The ending that is not an ending, and that nothing is explained. First of all I think this is an example of an open ending, very successful in my opinion, regarding the explanation of what happened and why, well, there are many clues and the readers have to get there by themselves.
If a second book were made I would be really happy, but I am satisfied even so.

I don’t think I’ve ever ripped through a book faster in my life. I’m still reeling. I have so much to process, but I’m also really glad a read this. Such a raw story about strong girls.

 This book is not for the faint of heart. I was not expecting this kind of gore when I choose this read. I am not disappointed!

I really enjoyed this story: so full of twist and turns, strong and badass female characters and overall scary. Everything that I could ask in a good book.

Is really interesting to see how the girls see this "new world": once schoolmates become completely strangers and the "every man for himself" mentality kicks in, as soon as the disease (and the shortage of food) spreads around. In the end, the ties of love and friendship are bigger than everything else. And that's the big, an important, message this book provides.
