So good, I love it. But Lena is just really mean to him sometimes. He won't let him be there for her and it makes me angry. Other than that, I love Ethan and the way he loves her. Not slow, very eventful. Not boring either. I really like it but it's not AMAZING.

Reading this book almost 7 years after the first time I read it I see how much I've changes and have grown as a reader. The plot still stands out and is good and fresh along with the characters I suppose. However the writing is overly simple and cliché. This used to be my favorite ya romance book, but now I seemed to constantly be cringing throughout the book. Aside from the writing my main problem with the book was how the authors had written in the perspective of the "I'm not like other girls" pov and it was tiring. The mean vilan characters were written and overly described as wearing to much makeup and wearing less clothes that made them not as respectable as though being feminine is somehow bad. One quote from the book was "I pushed past the girls from Jackson, who had ditched jackets, and were looking skanky in their tank tops and baby tees" not really bad but the book is so full of these kind of comments, and it's such a cheap way of writing mean vilan characters.

This book has become one of my favorite books so far this year! I actually ask a friend if she had read the book and what did she thought of it, and she told me that it was very boring so I didn't really have a high expectation on the ending of the book. But I loved it from start to finish, because of not only the fantasy part of the book, I also loved the romance and the little pieces of historical fiction that contributed a lot to the plot. I also loved the main characters because I can really connect with them in some type of way like Ethan and me shared the passion for reading and wanting to explore the world someday. As for Lena we not only share the love for literature and writing but also that insecurity that, that feeling of not fitting in which I thought was that really human side of her instead of this magical creature that it is.
