I have to say this is my favorite Camino Island book. Whoopi Goldberg as the narrator was an excellent pick. She read the book amazingly.
Camino Ghosts is back with Bruce, Mercer and the rest of the gang. Mercer is back on Camino Island to marry her boyfriend, Thomas. Bruce preforms the ceremony on the beach. Mercer is stuck on what to write for her next book, but Bruce has the perfect story and it's true.
Dark Isle is just a small isle off the northern coast of Florida and close to Camino Island. It was settled by freed slaves over 300 years ago. It's only decent is Lovely Jackson. She wrote and published a book about Dark Isle a few years ago and Bruce sells it in his store.
Mercer befriends Lovely and when a corporation wants to develop Dark Isle, they take on the developer, corporation, lawyers and lobbyist. Lovely is the only one that knows the secrets of Dark Isle and they are about to clash with the future.
Grisham writes such a good book. The characters, old and new, are developed thoughtfully. It's like you are visiting friends as you read his book. There is the courtroom drama that was superb. I enjoyed the story intertwined within the other one. I hope this isn't the end of Bruce and Mercer and the exploits they always seem to get involved in.
